Flexible solutions for reliable wiring of industrial robots and electrical/electronic modules in automation equipment
Belden launches a new robotic product program from Lumberg Automation™, including hundreds of different molded torsion-resistant control cables, individual lengths of cable and a wide assortment of robust M12 connectors.
Thanks to their excellent functional reliability, control cables and connectors in our new robotic program enable you to substantially reduce operating costs. The cables can withstand even the most vigorous mechanical stress caused by torsion, bending cycles, tension or compression. They also guarantee a high level of resistance to welding sparks, lubricants and chemicals. In addition, our robotic program offers you maximum flexibility thanks to a wide range of IP67-rated M8 and M12 connectors with a proven track record in industrial use.
The connectors, which are available either straight or angled, with or without wiring, have a contact resistance ≤5 mΩ and a rated current of 4 A (at 40°C). Depending on the version, rated and test voltages are between 30 and 240 V or 0.8 und 2.5 kV (eff./60 s). Insulation resistance is >109 Ω. The connectors' compact, translucent housings are made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). Further features include a self-locking threaded joint, rolled spring contacts, and a so-called "piggyback circuit", which ensures correct operation even if the LED display is damaged.
The Lumflex STL 500 is a UL-certified, four-pole control cable with a torsional strength of +/- 720° per meter, available by the meter on drums (100 or 500 m). It has a halogen-free jacket of black polyurethane (PUR) measuring 5.1 mm in diameter. The four copper conductors are color-coded brown, white, blue and black (in a clockwise direction) and each has a cross-section of 42 x 0.10 mm. An aramid core prevents the conductors from sticking to each other or to the jacket, ensuring optimum strain relief. The control cable can carry an operating voltage of up to
500 V.
In the case of molded control cables you can choose from single-ended cables measuring 2, 5, 10, 15 and 20 m in length, and double-ended M8/M8 or M12/M12 versions measuring 0.3, 0.6, 1, 1.5, 2 or 5 m in length. And if there's anything else you may need, we can also offer you customized solutions. All the cables guarantee reliable contact because the junction between the connector contacts and leads is completely enclosed in insulating plastic. This eliminates problems such as depressed pins or sporadic vibration-related short circuits. What's more, the molding ensures tight connections even when cables are subject to tension or compression.
